As a provider of educational opportunities
for students, The Pacific Northwest Film Scoring
Program does not offer services for professional
productions, filmmakers or composers. Student musicians
who perform on the scores do so for the educational
experience of working in a recording studio environment. |

This was my 4th time completing FS5 and I am so grateful for all that I continue to learn through this program. This is a rare opportunity to learn from a top notch and well respected composer who loves to teach and encourage aspiring composers. You won't find anything like this anywhere. Thanks again Hummie.

This program was one of the most significant music studies of my life. It gave me the tools to be able to understand how film music and film business work, not only theoretically but in practice as well. The instructors have tremendous knowledge which they are willing to share. I had an M.A. in classical music composition before I started the program though everything was new for me so I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Thank you!

I wish I could stick around for the entire program! Still, I feel I have taken a giant step forward! FS1 and FS2 were packed with valuable information about the industry and approaches to composition. In addition, the willingness of ALL the instructors to answer our individual questions was much appreciated. Finally, it was wonderful to be able to interact with musicians from everywhere, each with a unique set of talents and goals. We really fed off of each other! Thanks again!

Hummie's course is a God send! The film scoring training and experience is worth it's weight in gold! The music theory of modal interchange and it's precendent modal theory bring orchestration into the present day(most Universities and Colleges should take note, and update). As a jazz musician, I'm able to refer to this theory constantly, with ear candy results. I find myself using what Hummie taught in other music avenues as well. When scoring films, my director's have been extremely pleased!

The Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program is absolutely marvelous. Hummie Mann is a brilliant gem who is beyond accommodating and treats every student, musicians and filmmakers alike, as if they were long-standing professionals in the business. The score created for my documentary, 'Behind Barbed Wire', was breathtaking and emotionally invigorated the piece. I highly recommend their talents to any and every student. You won't regret the experience. Thank you!

This is a great program! When would a student filmmaker with no budget get another opportunity to have a custom score done for their baby? It's also quite a learning experience as a filmmaker to see what goes into the score, and you get to be involved in every aspect. I highly recommend this program and your guaranteed to get the chills when you hear your film with the new custom score--written specifically for YOUR film!

I learned more in one class (FS 3) with Hummie than I did in four years of college music theory; he has opened up worlds of music to me. Being able to work with an experienced working professional composer, seeing the changes, learning the "tricks"o the trade - all priceless!

I thoroughly enjoyed playing in the session this year. It was a good learning experience to see what studio playing is about. I recommend an opportunity like this to every musician.
